Bankers believe that the current year will not be marked by a renaissance of mortgage and car lending, while the market of consumer loans will be the only outlet for them in the segment of loans to individuals, UKRINFORM reported, with reference to the Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya newspaper.

Financiers do not hope to reach pre-crisis market figures, but they expect growth at 20-50% of their portfolios.

Large banks with Russian capital are actively planning to behave on the market. Retail development is a priority for VTB Bank, and the year 2011 will be a year of more careful attention to this promising market. "We are planning to increase our consumer loan portfolio by three or four times," said Volodymyr Budanov, deputy director of the department of retail products at VTB Bank.

Since the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2010, he notes, the number of major financial institutions in Ukraine issuing loans in cash increased steadily by one or two per month.
