Customs Union inflation at 3.5% in January-April

Inflation in the Customs Union totaled 3.5% in January-April and 1.8% in April, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.
Inflation totaled 7.8% in the Customs Union in comparison with April 2013, 17.2% in Belarus, 6.5% in Kazakhstan, and 7.3% in Russia.
The growth of the indexes of consumer prices in April 2014 compared to December 2013 was higher than the figures registered in 2013, noted the source. In April 2014 in comparison with April 2013 the highest growth of prices was registered in Belarus, particularly prices for food and paid services — 16% up and 38.2% up respectively. Kazakhstan registered the lowest growth of prices for commodities and services — 6.3-7% up. In Russia prices for food rose by 9%, with prices for non-foods up by 4.9% and prices for paid services up by 8.5%.
