On September 9, 2014 at Hilton Kyiv, Ukraine will take place International Conference “Black Sea Оil Trade-2014: Switching to Deep Processing. New Leaders”. Organizer – Consulting agency “UkrAgroConsult”. The conference is called to consider a need of Ukraine’s oil&fat market operators to switch to deep processing of vegoils as a potential way of improving their margins.
Taking into account intensifying competition in the market of vegetable oils, producers and traders with strategic thinking start to realize that expansion of crushing capacities is not enough to be effective and their activity has to be supplemented by deep processing of vegoils.
Currently, such products with high added value as refined bottled oil, phosphatide concentrate and lecithin make up a small share in the Ukrainian production and exports of oil&fat products. Nevertheless this segment has a huge potential for development.
According to UkrAgroConsult, during September–April large and medium crushers in Ukraine processed over 7 MMT of sunseed of crop-2013. Sunoil production during this period amounted to 3 MMT, exports - 2.64 MMT. Compared to last year, sunoil production and export rose by 20% and 17% respectively.
Lately, vegoil market also has been facing a growing demand for processed soy products which is encouraging expansion of soybean production. Over 10 years soybean production in Ukraine increased from 65 KMT in 2002 to 2.62 MMT in 2013. UkrAgroConsult forecasts Ukrainian 2014 soybean crop to exceed 3 MMT and make Ukraine a top soy producer among European countries.
Topical aspects of the market’s future behavior will be covered by the leading industry experts within the “Black Sea Oil Trade - 2014” Conference, which will be held on September 9, 2014 at Hilton Kyiv, Ukraine.
In 2013 “Black Sea Oil Trade” Conference attracted more than 140 delegates from 22 countries and 110 companies. Among conference participants were oilseed producers and crushers, traders, investment companies, banks, consulting, shipping, brokerage, insurance and surveying companies. 15 speakers were represented by leading experts from Ukraine, Russia, China, Turkey and the UK.
