Kernel released operational update for 3 months ended March 31, 2014

According to the official operational update report released by the company, Kernel increased grain sales by 100.5% to 1.3 million tons for the Q1 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. Bulk oil sales went up by 52%, having reached 264.5 thousand tons, while bottled oil sales dropped by 2.5% to 22.5 million liters in 2014. Sunflower seed crush grew by 4.4% to 708.9 thousand tons and export terminals throughput grew by 66% to 1.03 million tons compared to the same period in 2013.
Kernel also announced divestment of 100,000 tons oilseed crushing plant in the Stavropol region of the Russian Federation for the enterprise value of USD 10 million. Company was able to attract USD 80 million from the syndicate of European banks to fund 2014 planting campaign. Prices for the main products sold by the company have declined on the average of 22.3% over the reported period.
