Ukrainian banks report UAH 2 bln in losses in Q1, 2014

Ukrainian banks reported UAH 1.993 billion as losses in the first quarter of 2014, compared to revenues of UAH 3.126 billion in the same period last year, reads a statement posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to the central bank, the revenues of Ukrainian banks in the first quarter 2014 grew by 32.8% compared with the same period in 2013, to UAH 50.5 billion.
The expenditures of Ukrainian banks in the first quarter 2014 compared with the same period in 2013 grew by 50.4%, to UAH 52.5 billion.
In January-February 2014, the losses of Ukrainian banks amounted to UAH 2.6 billion, compared with UAH 788 million as a profit obtained in the same period last year.
