Ukriane. GDP growth in January-February amounted to 5.5% - Prime Minister

Ukraine's GDP growth for the first two months of the year amounted to 5.5%, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at a government meeting.
"In spite of the malevolent projections, GDP growth in January and February amounted to 5.5%, while in February 6%," he said, referring to the State Statistics Service.
Earlier, the National Bank, in its rapid assessment of the economic situation in Ukraine in February, said: GDP growth accelerated in February and amounted to about 7% in annual terms.
Real GDP in Ukraine in 2010 grew, according to preliminary data of the State Statistics Service, by 4.2%, while its nominal value increased by 18.9% and reached 1,085.935 billion UAH (1 USD -7.94 UAH).
In the fourth quarter of last year, GDP growth slowed to 3% from 3.5% in the third quarter and 6% in the second.
The government forecasts growth of nominal GDP in 2011 to 1.253 trillion UAH, real GDP growth 4.5%.
