Astarta is planning to increase sugar production by 31-48% to 400-500 thousand tons in 2014-15

According to the statement made by the company representatives to the news agencies, Astarta is planning to increase sugar production by 31-48% or 400-450 thousand tons in 2014-15 season. The statement was made by company’s Director Victor Ivanchyk. Company will be able to satisfy demand on the national market in accordance with “A” quotes set by the government, and will be aiming to broaden its exports markets. Astarta is planning to increase yield per hectare for sugar beet from 550 hw to 600 hw over the season. Total demand for sugar in Ukraine is expected to reach 1.5-2.0 millions of sugar in 2014.
