Weather & Crop con ditions & Sowing
* Ukraine: 1113.5 Th ha (38% of intended area) of early grain crops had been seeded by March, 21
* Ukraine: spring sowing rates are the highest for the last 6 years
* Russia: as of March 21, spring crops were planted on an area of 269.2 Th ha (0.5% of planted area)
* Kazakhstan: 15.9 Ml ha will be planted to grains, including 12.8 Ml ha to wheat
Grain Market
* Ukraine: 1.3 MMT of grain exported in the first 16 days of March
* Ukraine: Grain prices on the rise. Farmers holding sales back
* Russian State Statistics Service: 2013 grain crop adjusted to 92.4 MMT
* Russia: Exports may fall seriously from March 10-20 due to windy weather that persisted in the port of Novorossiysk
* IKAR raised its grain export estimate to 23.9 ММТ
