Ukraine. Sunseed exports fading

Even though sunflower harvest in the current season was record high, sunseed exports are now at the nine-year low. According to the preliminary data, in September-February 2013/14 Ukraine exported 22 KMT of sunseed against 100.5 KMT during the same period last year. Obviously, exporting sunseed is much less attractive for Ukraine than its processing and exporting oil and meal.
It is very likely that Ukrainian market will soon enter the new stage of development, which will open new opportunities for both crushers and exporters.
