Gazprom decides not to continue gas discount for Ukraine after March

Russian gas giant Gazprom has decided not to continue extending its gas price discount for Ukraine starting next month, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said during a today meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow.
"In conditions where Ukraine is not meeting its obligations, not fulfilling the agreements reached with the signing of the amendment to the contract that provides the discount, Gazprom has decided not to extend the discount starting at the beginning of next month," Miller said.In turn, the Russian prime minister said that Gazprom's decision to recall shipments at a discount was appropriate in the current setting. Earlier to this Prime Minister Yatsenyuk said that Russia in the next quarter would not give a discount on gas to Ukraine.
