Effectiveness of Ukrainian agricultural holdings under volatile prices will be characterized by Alex Morgun, Financial Analyst, UkrAgroConsult, within XI International Conference “Black Sea Grain: Expanding Horizons”.

“2013 has been challenging year for agricultural producers worldwide in terms of growth and development, - comments Alex. - Declining commodity prices led to lower than expected revenue levels, while production costs continued growth at the same levels, as over the previous years. Ukrainian producers were not different in that regard, and despite lower labor costs, compared to other countries, struggled with maintaining net income growth at the levels, comparable to the levels of the previous years. In terms of external financing, the year had been scarce as only few top market leaders managed to attract investment funds with the issue of Eurobonds in the beginning of 2013. At the same time, financial expenses in the form of interest payments were carried out from 2012, purring additional pressure on net financial results of the companies”.
