Global Energy S.A. increased its share in Agroton to over 5%

According to the official information released on the official website of Agroton, Global Energy S.A. seated in Warsaw , Poland acquired 8 888 shares of Agroton Public Ltd. seated in Nicosia, Cyprus on February 25th, 2014. As the result, company’s share of ownership increased to over 5%. The price of the purchase was reported at 4.47 PLN per share. Prior to the acquisition total number of shares owned by the company was estimated at 1 080 000 shares, as current number of shares was reported at 1 088 888, which constitutes 5.02% of total shares. Global S.A. stated that the company considers further acquisitions of shares in the nearest future.

According to financial analyst of UkrAgroConsult, Alex Morgun, Agrton price per share witnessed drop of 7.2 times over 2-day period from April 11, 2013 to April 13, 2014 due to the announcement that company’s assets were frozen in the Bank of Cyprus. Agroton also postponed payments of interest on bonds in 2013 issued by the company previously. Current price per share of the company is measured at PLN 4.50, having increased by 4 times since April 13, 2013. Purchase of shares was made despite increased political and economic risks in Ukraine, reflecting trust of foreign investors in Ukrainian agrarian businesses.
