Ukraine's grain export in 2013 in monetary terms amounted to USD 6.4 billion, the Ministry of Revenue and Duties has said in a statement on Thursday.
"According to the Ministry of Revenue and Duties, Ukraine's grain exports in 2013 in monetary terms amounted to USD 6.4 billion," the report says.
Traditionally, partner countries were interested primarily in corn and wheat, whose last year's exports totaled USD 5.7 billion, making 89% of total grain exports.
The leading positions among the export countries were taken by Egypt (USD 1 billion), Spain (USD 543.3 million), Saudi Arabia (USD 355.8 million) and Iran (USD 334.1 million).
At the same time, the imports of cereals in monetary terms amounted to USD 306.5 million. The first place in imports also went to corn, it was imported to Ukraine at USD 255.1 million. The second position in the ranking was taken by rice, whose imports last year was slightly more than USD 39 million.
The largest supplies were from France (USD 68.4 million), Hungary (USD 66.9 million), Pakistan (USD 13.2 million) and Vietnam (USD 11.4 million).
