Belarus’ agricultural output down 4% in 2013

In 2013 the output of agricultural products by all kinds of agricultural enterprises in Belarus was down by 4% in comparable prices as against 2012 and made up Br105.3 trillion, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
In particular, crop production decreased by 8.4% as compared to 2012, and livestock production was down by 0.3%.
The National Statistics Committee informed that crop production accounts for 46% of the total agricultural output while livestock production accounts for 54%. Agricultural enterprises including farmers generated 77.4% of the output while private subsidiary farming produced 22.6%.
Minsk Oblast is the best performer with a 23.9% share in the total output. It is followed by Brest Oblast (17.6%), Gomel Oblast (15.7%), Grodno Oblast (15.7%), Vitebsk Oblast (14.1%), and Mogilev Oblast (12.9%).
In 2013 the agricultural output by agricultural enterprises and farmers decreased by 3.4%. Their crop production was down by 9.6%, while livestock production went up 0.4%.
