Ukraine. The forecast for domestic grain export is increased to 33 million tons

2014-01-15 10:25:23

Forecast for grain exports during the current marketing year has been increased to 33 million tons. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk. As of today more than 20 million tons of grain has already sent to foreign markets. A record volume of shipments was in December and November - more than the 4.6 million tonnes per month. This was achieved through systematic Government action to optimize the work of the national grain logistics.

According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Ukrainian grain remains competitive and demanded at the foreign markets. Therefore, in order to meet the high demand abroad and faster unload the domestic market, growth in grain exports has been accelerated.

"I recall that in November and December exports rose to over 4.6 million tons per month. This is a record rate in the history of independence, which had not missed the domestic logistics. Therefore, to increase the possibility of grain logistic, the government began a comprehensive work of its optimization last year. It has helped more quickly and smoothly to unload the domestic market from remnants of last year, and significant amounts of new grain," the Minister said.

Mykola Prysyazhnyuk added that this work will be continued in the future. It is still not exported about 13 million tons of grain. Therefore, to ensure stable operation of the infrastructure of the grain market and close cooperation with all market participants remain a priority for the Government and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food in particular.
