Government will improve agricultural leasing mechanism - Prysiazhniuk

2014-01-13 14:10:48

This year, the government will strengthen work over renewal of the agricultural machinery park. In particular, conditions will be improved for receiving the agricultural machinery on lease through Ukragroleasing.

The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry website informs about this.

"Ukraine has a perspective for boosting the yield of grain crops to 80 million tonnes. However, substantial technical re-equipment is necessary for realization of such considerable potential, in particular, for small and medium-size agricultural producers. But for this, considerable financial resources are needed. Therefore, the government has started work last year over simplification of the farmers' participation in the leasing programs for the purchase of agricultural machinery. In particular, a mechanism of financial leasing is improved through NJSC Ukragroleasing," Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk noted.

He stressed that intensive work is underway, first, over simplification of the conditions for receipt of agricultural machinery and equipment on lease through the NJSC. Second, work is also going on as concerns reduction of risks for non-payment of the funds for agricultural machinery and equipment taken on financial lease.

"Thanks to this, popularity of state leasing programs for the purchase of agricultural machinery gradually grows. Last year, Ukragroleasing has supplied technology and equipment to farmers at almost UAH 87 million. And this is UAH 20 million up against 2012. This year, we are planning to preserve the same positive dynamics. Including, thanks to realization of the Program for intensification of the economy development for 2013-2014," Prysiazhniuk noted.

Also, the Minister added that in total last year, the park of agricultural machinery in Ukraine was renewed with 14,000 agricultural machines. In particular, with almost 4,000 tractors, over 1,000 combine harvesters, over 2,000 units of tillage equipment and 1,400 seeding equipment.
