Belarus’ foreign trade deficit at $1.109bn in January-November

In January-November 2013 the deficit of Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $1,109.6 million. The preliminary data is available on the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
In January-November 2013 the foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $81,210.8 million, 12.1% down from the same period of last year. Belarus’ export dropped by 16.3% from January-November 2012 to $40,050.6 million. Import shrank by 7.5% to $41,160.2 million.
In January-November 2013 the foreign trade in merchandise amounted to $70,615.9 million, 84.9% as against January-November 2012. Merchandise export totaled $33,487.4 million (79.4%), with import at $37,128.5 million (90.5%). The deficit of the merchandise trade amounted to $3,641.1 million.
In January-November 2013 Belarus’ foreign trade in services rose by 16.2% from January-November 2012 to $10,594.9 million. The export of services went up 16.2% to $6,563.2 million. Import rose by 16% to $4,031.7 million. The surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in services amounted to $2,531.5 million.
