Ukraine. Retail trade turnover 9.2% up over 11 months

Retail trade turnover grew by 9.2% over January-November of the current year against the same period of the previous year to UAH 793.7 billion.
The Cabinet's press service informs about this.
"As compared with the same period of the previous year, retail commodity turnover grew by 9.2%. Over 11 months of 2012 against the same period of 2011, turnover grew by 15.7%. In particular, turnover of the restaurant economy with taking into consideration turnover of natural persons-entrepreneurs makes up UAH 22 billion, growth makes up 1.1%, as compared with January-November 2012," a statement reads.
Analyzing the structure of retail turnover, the analysts note that the foodstuffs make up about 40% of total retail turnover.
According to the experts, growth of retail trade turnover reflects growth of population's real incomes. At the same time, the specialists admit that partially this considerable growth of commodity turnover reflects also unshadowing of retail trade.
Its growing share falls on organized trade establishments. Population gets accustomed to the purchase of goods at trade networks, where control over the quality and the expiry dates of goods is considerably better against unofficial or semiofficial trade establishments.
