Moody's Investors Service said Denmark's triple A rating with 'stable' outlook reflects the country's robust wealth and economic diversification indicators and very strong public finances.

Moreover, country's long track record of pro-active economic policy-making supports the rating.

In an annual update to the markets, the rating agency said Denmark has a stable political environment. The country's robust public finance indicators are also supportive of the rating and compare favorably even to its Aaa-rated peers.

But Moody's said that these strengths are tempered by the domestic banking system's reliance on wholesale funding. The agency considers the risk to the sovereign's own balance sheet to be low.
