Nibulon announced on Dec. 5 that for the first five months on the 2013-14 marketing year (MY) it has exported a record 2.47 million tonnes of grain. This is 45% more than the same period in 2012-13 MY and more than twice that of the 2011-12 MY. In November 2013 alone, Nibulon exported 628,645 tonnes. Nibulon expects to export about 3 million tonnes of grain over the first half of the 2013-14 MY.
According to Valery Kunitsky, Nibulon’s head of the department of foreign economic relations and marketing, as of Dec. 3 Nibulon had loaded 65 vessels with 1,127,000 tonnes of maize, 654,200 tonnes of wheat, 398,800 tonnes of rapeseed, 265,900 tonnes of barley, 27,500 tonnes of sorghum and 5,200 tonnes of soybeans.
"The record performance, which Nibulon has demonstrated in the first half of 2013-14 MY, gives us every reason to believe that this company will export more than 5 million tonnes of grain this marketing year, which will be an absolute record for us," said Valery Kunitsky.
According to the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Nibulon’s grain export share is the Ukraine’s largest and accounts for 15% of national exports.
