Russia may export roughly 16 MMT of grain in the first half of the season (July-December 2013), i.e. as much as for the entire last season, forecasts Vladimir Petrichenko, CEO of the ProZerno analytical company.
October’s exports totaled 11.5 MMT. The expert predicts that up to 2.5 MMT of grain will be exported in November, or nearly the same volume as in the previous month. Due to market factors, the deliveries may fall to some 2 MMT in December. In other words, this year’s exports will total roughly 16 MMT.
The expert estimates the overall export availability for the crop year (ending July 1, 2014) at 22-22.5 MMT, including pulses. Of this volume, wheat may account for 16 MMT, barley for 2.7-3 MMT and corn for 2.5-2.6 MMT.
