Suspension of preparation for signing of the Association Agreement with the EU does not mean an automatic change of negative trends in trade with the Customs Union.
Minister for Trade in the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev has said about this Monday in Moscow, Ukrinform's own correspondent in Russia informs.
“My forecast for trade is if we leave everything as it isб the negative trends will preserve, and possibly strengthen,” he has said.
According to Slepnev, turnover of Ukraine and the Customs Union falls for the second year running. As the Minister noted, this takes place not only due to reduction of Ukraine's purchase of energy resources.
“The trends are not very good, our turnover falls for the second year running and the reasons are not only in energy cooperation. Total economic situation is not very favorable both in Ukraine and with us, and this has an intensive interaction with our cooperation chains, making products with the value added tax,” he stressed.
At the same time, Slepnev said that under the current uncertain situation in Ukraine, the industry tries to switch on to other partners, wherever it is possible.
