Ukrainian, Austrian presidents note increased turnover

The trade turnover between Ukraine and Austria increases every year, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a news conference in Vienna on Thursday.
"The trade turnover this year has increased compared with the previous year by almost 16%. This year it will reach two billion euros," Yanukovych noted.
He added that the relations between Ukraine and Austria have traditionally been constructive. During today's meeting, the sides noted the growth of business confidence both in Ukraine and in Austria, thanks to the reforms that began in Ukraine in 2010.
Yanukovych said that the conduct of business forums and meetings will contribute to economic growth.
He also noted the importance of inter-regional cooperation between the countries. According to Yanukovych, Days of Ukrainian Culture in Austria and Days of Austrian Culture in Ukraine will contribute to the rapprochement between the two countries.
In turn, Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer noted that bilateral relations between Ukraine and Austria over the past 20 years have substantially evolved. He recalled that Austria is an important investor for Ukraine. "Our prospects are very positive,” he said.
Fisher promised that Austria will support Ukraine's bid for membership in the UN Security Council in 2015.
