According to the official statement made by the owner and the CEO of the company, Oleg Bahmatyuk, Ukrlandfarming is planning to invest in purchasing up to 3 000 rail cars that are suitable for transporting grains by the end of 2015. Company is also considering a purchase of 1 000 foreign-made cars for transporting grain. Ukrlandfarming is considered to be the largest agrarian holding based on the size of the land bank, as well as the scale of the operations.
UkrAgroConsult comment: Given current state of infrastructure in Ukraine, we think that investment of largest market player in infrastructure will have a positive effect on the sector. At the same time, it is hard to evaluate such investment project as it might lead to additional future costs associated with managing the newly acquired transportation vehicles.
