In 2010, a confident growth was observed in all key sectors of the Ukrainian agriculture, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine informed.

In 2010, despite unfavorable weather conditions, total grain output (39.3 million tons) exceeded the average annual volume over recent 10 years by 7.3%, including the grain maize yield (12.0 million tons) was the largest over recent 20 years.

Due to expansion of sugar beet sowings in 2010, its production (13.7 million tons) against 2009 grew by 36.6%.

Fruit and berry yield (1.7 million tons) in 2010 exceeded by 7.9% the output of 2009.

In 2010, boosting of animal products continued: animal products grew by 4.5% against 2009, including at agricultural enterprises - by 8.8%.

Total volume of cattle and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) increased by 6.7% in 2010 against 2009, including at agricultural enterprises - by 9%.

Over January-February 2011, the volume of agricultural production against a relevant period of 2010 grew by 5.0%, including at agricultural enterprises - by 11.7%.

Agrarian enterprises continued boosting milk output in January-February 2011, primarily at the expense of a growth of milch cow productivity: milk output against the same period of 2010 grew by 1.9%, and the average milk yield from one cow increased by 3.3%.

As of the beginning of this March, agricultural enterprises preserved a positive trend toward pig and poultry head growth (against March 1, 2010 - by 5.3% and 13.7% respectively).
