Direct investments will grow to USD 7 billion in 2011

Direct foreign investments (DFI) in Ukraine in 2011 will grow by 7.7% against 2010 and will make up about USD 7 billion, Executive Director of the International Blazer Foundation Oleh Ustenko has aired such a forecast.
"In this connection, we are expecting that the situation should improve. On the other hand, this investment volume still fails to reach the pre-crisis level, when direct foreign investments made up no less than USD 10 billion," he noted.
By the Foundation estimations, in 2011, structural changes in direct foreign investments will take place. In 2010, out of USD 6.5 billion of investments about 60% or about USD 4 billion of investments went to the banking and financial sectors of the economy, whereas in 2011, the financial sector will get about 30% investments, the rest of the volume will be redistributed among other sectors of the economy.
