Trade turnover between Ukraine and Armenia is 5% up in 2013.
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul has said about this at the seventh meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukraine-Armenia Commission on trade and economic cooperation, the press service of the Vice Prime Minister informs about this.
“Ukraine confidently realizes the European integration course. At the same time, we continue developing relations with out strategic partners, one of which is Armenia. In 2013, trade turnover between our countries increased by 5% and made up USD 117.1 million over seven months of this year. Deepening of cooperation in the industrial sector, atomic power engineering, agriculture, and transport communications are perspective directions,” the Vice Prime Minister said.
Bipartite cooperation dynamically develops in the sphere of transport, primarily the railway transport. As of October this year, the railway transportation volume made up 127,630 tonnes, which is 63.9% up against the same period of the previous year. In the automobile transport, the number of permits for 2013 was 2,600 on each side, which completely satisfies demand of Ukrainian and Armenian automobile carriers. Increase of regular air flights is a strategic issue. For now, three Ukrainian airlines have permits for air flights.
The Ukrainian side expressed its interest in development of bipartite trade in agricultural products, in particular, supply of national dairy and poultry products to Armenia and cooperation in the sphere of seed selection.
