Signing of association deal with EU to open doors for Ukraine to cooperate with World Bank, MEP says

The signing of an Association Agreement with the European Union will open doors for Ukraine to cooperate with international financial institutions like the World Bank and will facilitate access to loans for economic reforms, Polish MEP Pawel Kowal told Channel 5 on Wednesday.
"The signing of an Association Agreement opens the way, opens doors for good cooperation with the World Bank from a political point of view, for the possibility of obtaining new financing trenches and creating conditions for reform of the financial sector of Ukraine. This [the signing of the Association Agreement and the availability of getting international loans - ed.] are related things, there is nothing wrong, and it is also important that the Ukrainian side take this into account, because the politics is not an abstraction, it is also the specifics," Kowal said.
Asked by a reporter that Ukraine can count on international loans only after the signing of the Association Agreement, the MEP said: "We should not put the emphasis this way." Kowal also said that "he recently met with a very informed person, who said the loan is possible and is associated with the development of good relations between Ukraine and the EU."
"Everyone understands it," Kowal summed up.
