Ukraine's Kernel Holding reported a 74% increase in grain sales for the first quarter of 2014, driven by ramped up exports through Taman port facility in Russia.
While exports through Taman increased, Kernel said shipments from Ukraine were slower than last year due to a late autumn harvest, farmers' unwillingness to accept low grain prices and the anticipation of a VAT reimbursement for grain exports set to begin on January 1, 2014.
