Ukraine, following the creation of a free trade area with the European Union, will be able to get more than UAH 4 billion in additional funds from exports of agricultural products.
Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said this at the fourth Ukrainian Grain Congress on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"After the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU its key component - a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU - should start working. Ukraine can get more than UAH 4 billion in additional revenue from exports of agricultural products. Ukraine will also be able to get an additional more than UAH 2 billion from trade in grain crops," the official said.
He said that in the long run the creation of a free trade area is beneficial not only to Ukraine and the EU, but also to other trade partners of Ukraine.
