China's economic growth may exceed 7.5% this year: PBoC's Yi

China's economic growth will likely exceed the government's target of 7.5 percent in 2013, People's Bank of China Deputy Governor Yi Gang reportedly said Thursday.
"We're going to have certainly above 7.5 percent growth rate, or may be 7.6 percent," Yi was quoted as saying at a seminar held on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington.
He said that China's GDP growth will remain at around 7 percent for the foreseeable future. Indicators show that growth has picked up in the third quarter, Yi said.
He urged the U.S. to tackle the government shutdown and debt ceiling issues as soon as possible as this uncertainty may adversely affect the global financial markets.
"I think they should have the wisdom to solve this problem as soon as possible," Yi was quoted as saying by news portal Sina.com.
