The Ukrainian economy will see growth in 2013, but it will be smaller than the one envisaged in the state budget for this year, First Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Anatoliy Maksiuta has said.
He announced this during a roundtable at Ukrinform on Tuesday, an agency reporter said.
"We expect that the situation will slightly improve in the second half of the year. And we generally expect that the economy will reach a positive result this year, but this positive GDP growth will obviously be smaller than the 3.4% that was projected for this year," Maksiuta said.
He said that this year's good harvest and last year's low statistical base would have a positive impact on GDP growth.
As Ukrinform reported, GDP shrank by 1.3% in the second quarter of 2013 year-over-year.
