According to the official statement released by Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia, it has lowered control over products imported from Ukrainian Milkiland factory “Slavutskiy Maslodelniy Kombinat” starting from September 3, 2013. Federal Service Agency has lifted control over products within the plant, however testing of samples continues in the laboratories. “Slavutskiy Maslodelniy Kombinat” has been under strict control since May 25, 2013 due to potential of oxytetracycline content found in the products of the company. “Menskiy Syr”, which is another Milkiland plant was allowed to export its production to Russia without extensive control in August of 2013.
UkrAgroConsult comment: The lack of evidence that would support accusations of Russian Agency towards Ukrainian companies shows that measures taken towards Ukrainian producers had goals, other than maintenance of product quality, exported to Russia from Ukraine.
