Taking into consideration the internal state and world economic trends, deflation is impossible in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told the government's meeting.

He reminded that the State Statistics Service made public information about the consumer price index in February. "Inflation is 0.9%. It is clear, it may not satisfy an ordinary consumer. It is better that the prices did not rise at all, or dropped. But in the real life, when oil and gas rise in price, the world prices set up records for food, and the devaluated dollar presses on the national currency, it is impossible," he underscored.

In such a situation, according to Azarov, one of main tasks of the government is to ensure a growth of real incomes of population.

According to the State Statistics Service, a consumer price index for goods and services in February made up 0.9%, and since the year start - 1.9%. Against February 2010, inflation made up 7.2%.
