Export duty for cattle will reduce form 25% to 5% - Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry

The government supported an initiative from the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry for minimizing taxes on export of live cattle and hides. Rate will drop from 25% to 5%. Adoption of these changes will improve the economic interest in beef production and increasing exports.
Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said about this, the Ministry's press service told Ukrinform.
"In order to support the livestock industry and the domestic producer, the government at its meeting yesterday supported an initiative from the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry in relation to minimize the taxes on the export of live cattle and hides from 25% to 5% of the customs value," the official said.
According to him, such changes should contribute to ensuring that the industry has become profitable. "The export duty led to the fact that producers were interested in supplying products abroad. And due to the fact that the purchase price of beef on the domestic market does not reimburse the cost of its production, commodity producer was losing interest in the production. Now the situation may be reversed," the Minister said.
He also believes that in the long term beef can be a major export product of Ukraine. After all, agricultural products are in demand on world markets due to their high quality and safety.
