Prices for grain transportation will be revised this week - Prysiazhniuk

Ukrzaliznytsia tariffs for grain transportation are planned to be regulated this week. A special interdepartmental commission will consider validity of prices for internal and external transportation of grain.
Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing about this within the frames of the government meeting, the Ministry's press service informed.
"Currently, on the government's instruction an interdepartmental working group considers logistic expenses and raising effectiveness of grain export. And this week, an issue will be considered on regulation of tariffs for Ukrzaliznytsia's internal and external transportation," the Minister noted.
He said that logistic expenses related to grain exports make up about UAH 550/ton of wheat. And as regards corn, this figure will be about UAH 765/ton.
"The state and the Antimonopoly Committee should interfere in order to give possibility for an agricultural producer to receive high incomes. And today our task is to cheapen logistic expenses by at least UAH 200-300. Therefore, our position will be tough," the Minister summed up.
