Retail trade turnover almost 12% up since year start - Prasolov

Total retail trade turnover grew by 11.6% since the beginning of 2013 in Ukraine.
Economic Development and Trade Minister Ihor Prasolov told the journalists about this.
“Since the beginning of 2013, total trade volume grew against the same period of the previous year by 11.6% and reached UAH 398 billion,” the Minister noted.
According to him, since the year start, UAH 19.8 billion came from economic entities, engaged in trade activities, to all budgets.
“Development of trade is included into main priorities of the government's work. Thanks to a large-scale rise of social standards, renewal of economic development, we managed to reach growth of population's real incomes, which had a positive influence on trade turnover indexes.”
He stressed that Ukraine will further develop trade, in particular, introduce unified standards of trade activities, modern technologies, and will ensure quality and security of goods.
