Investors welcome for Minsk Margarine Plant till 2 August

Applications from strategic investors for Minsk Margarine Plant are welcome till 2 August, BelTA learned from representatives of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus.

The decision to arrange an additional phase to collect statements of interest regarding OAO Minsk Margarine Plant was made following requests of potential investors, the source specified.

To take part in the procedure to nominate the strategic investors, interested companies are invited to submit applications to the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus in line with the specified form by 2 August 2013.

Detailed information about the terms and the procedure to nominate the investors for Minsk Margarine Plant is available on the Agency’s website. In particular, the Agency is seeking strategic investors, who are interested in buying the state-owned share of the company’s stock (93.8% of the shares). The investor will have to keep the company’s business profile unchanged, will have to implement an investment program, and honor social guarantees before the personnel.

The pilot project to attract strategic investors for eight state-run enterprises is being implemented by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization with assistance of the World Bank and is designed to introduce cutting-edge international practices in Belarus. The project envisages inviting a financial advisor with international experience of effective privatization. A consortium of companies IOOO Ernst & Young, Ernst & Young Legal Services and the law firm OOO Aleynikov and Partners is retained by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus to find and invite the strategic investors.
