Agricultural enterprises should make every effort to collect and preserve the harvest, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during a meeting with chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin, the President’s press office reports.
"The President drew attention to the need for making every effort to save the crop. This will give us the opportunity this year to put more grain in the international market and further raise the prestige of Ukraine in this issue," Dobkin said.
He added that the large agribusinesses with the latest technologies are to help the small farms, which are not fully staffed.
Speaking on the grain harvest in Kharkiv region, he noted that the region has a record harvest of winter crops this year. "This gives us reason to hope that Kharkiv region will make a decent contribution to the storages of Ukraine on the results of harvesting campaign in 2013," Dobkin concluded.
