Naftogaz wants to extend Gazprombank loan of $2 bln, Bakulin says

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is in talks with the Russian Gazprombank on a five-year extension of a $ 2 billion loan, Naftogaz CEO Yevhen Bakulin told reporters Wednesday, according to RIA Novosti.
"We plan to prolong, and now we are conducting this work," Bakulin said, adding that Naftogaz wants to extend the loan for five years and hopes to complete negotiations by September 24.
The Naftogaz chief added that to extend the Gazprombank loan, the Ukrainian parliament has to pass a law granting state guarantees.
There are no comments from Gazprombank yet.
A reminder that at the beginning of July last year, Naftogaz raised at a seven-year loan at Gazprombank (2012-2019) to pay for Russian gas. The cost of servicing the loan is $ 1.54 billion.
At the end of 2011, Naftogaz attracted at Gazprombank a loan of $ 550 million, also to pay for Russian gas supplies.
