Prysiazhniuk: Ukraine to harvest over 30 million tons of early grain crops

Ukraine will harvest more than 30 million tons of early grain crops this year. This is a record figure for Ukraine. In general, domestic farmers have already threshed more than 15 million tons of early grain crops.
Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk said this during his working visit to Mykolaiv region on Friday.
"Southern regions are already completing the harvesting of early grain crops. For example, Mykolaiv region plans to complete it on Sunday. In general, Ukraine has currently threshed over 15 million tons of early grain crops, which is more than half of the planned harvest of early grain crops, since we are planning to collect more than 30 million tons. And this is a record figure, which we expected," he said.
He also said that this year's yield compared to last year's grew by 7.7 quintals per hectare. And it will grow, because central and northern regions with higher yields are joining the harvesting campaign.
