UAC forecasts gross yield of grain at 55-58 million tons

Gross yield of grain and leguminous crops is expected at 55-58 million tons in Ukraine. As of July 8, agricultural producers thrashed 10.5 million tons. Including, 7.4 million tons of wheat, 2.9 million tons of barley and 0.7 million tons of winter rape.
Director General of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Serhiy Stoyanov told a press conference about this on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.
"Perspectives of the gross yield of grain is from 55 million tons to 58 million tons, depending on condition of the corn's summer vegetation (25-28 million tons), wheat - 21million tons, barley - 7 million tons. Still, those governing conditions are very favorable for Ukraine. Export potential is 27-29 million tons, however, it is not known still how it will be sold depending on intensification of world demand for grain and solution of problems with grain hoppers in Ukraine," the expert said.
At the same time, he noted that currently, agricultural producers worry about extremely low prices, formed on the grain market of Ukraine.
As reported, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said that Ukraine in 2013-2014 marketing year plans to send 26 million tons of grain crops to exports.
