2013 wheat crop is expected to grow by 30%

According to the official statement made by the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, wheat crop is expected to reach 21 million tons in 2013, which is 5 million tons higher than 2012 level. There have been 7.5 million of grains already threshed in Ukraine this year, which were harvested from 3 million hectares. Average yield per hectare for these cultures in measured at 25.5 hundredweights per hectare, which is 7.5 hundredweights higher compared to 2012 levels. Harvesting campaigns are carried out in 19 regions of Ukraine.
UkrAgroConsult comment: Draught during 2011-2012 season substantially affected crop levels during the previous season, therefore it is expected that this season with more favorable weather conditions will show improvement.
