Ukraine is planning to export a record-making volume of grain crops this marketing year.
Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said about this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“This year, we have exported 23 million tons of grain. Next year, the export forecast is to the amount of 26 million tons. In other words, this will be an absolute record of Ukrainian exports to the grain market,” Prysiazhniuk has said.
According to him, the government will make maximum efforts in order to minimize seasonal price fluctuations. “The Agrarian Fund acquired by forward purchases over 1 million tons of wheat, which were contracted and paid up. The state food-grain corporation purchased 1 million tons of grain crops by forward purchases,” Prysiazhniuk added.
