Albanian firms invest 206 mln euros abroad in 2012

Albanian companies continued expanding their investments beyond the country's border, mainly to the neighbouring countries and other regions in Europe, a report said on Wednesday.
The investments abroad by Albanian firms were estimated at around 206 million euros by the end of 2012, according to the World Investment Report published by the United National Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD.
The report highlights that the Albanian firms have invested more than Macedonian companies with investments abroad worth 104 million U.S. dollars and Bosnian firms with 186 million U.S. dollars.
However Albanian investments abroad were surpassed by investments of Croatian and Serbian firms, respectively estimated at 4.5 billion euros and 2.2 billion euros.
