Kazakhstan, Britain sign deals worth $1b

Kazakhstan and Britain have signed over 10 agreements worth $1 billion during the first state visit of British Prime Minister David Cameron to Astana, the press office of national agency Kaznex Invest said on Monday.
Cameron arrived here on June 30 for a two-day visit, leading a delegation of top-managers of over 30 companies representing mining, oil and gas, machinery, financial, construction and aerospace industries.
The Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New technologies signed memorandums on the cooperation with SUN Gold on the construction of a mining and processing complex at Yubileynoye deposit in the Aktobe region and with Rio Tinto on creating a geological research center in Kazakhstan.
National agency of Kazakhstan Kaznex Invest and Kazgeology and British company Dando Drilling International have concluded memorandums to assemble drilling rigs in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhtelecom and Weightless Contracting have signed a license agreement on designing and developing devices for wireless data transfer and KazTurboRemont and Wood Group have signed the founding agreement on creating a joint venture.
