The Ukrainian government expects that the country's grain harvest in 2013 will exceed last year's harvest by 10-12 million tonnes, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said at a meeting with the head of the IMF mission in Ukraine Nikolay Gueorguiev on Thursday.
"We expect that there will be a good harvest this year," the premier said. Last year, the harvested grain amounted to over 46 million tonnes, which was 19 percent less than the record-breaking 2011, with over 56 million tonnes. If this year’s harvest stands up to the expectations, it will be another record for Ukraine’s last two decades.
