Ukraine faces a new wave of economic crisis yet in autumn, and to challenge it successfully the government and the opposition need to reach a consensus.

Andriy Doroshenko, a political expert with the Center for Advanced Legal Initiatives, told Channel 5.

"Today in the world begins the second, and a very dangerous phase of the economic recession, which will deal with the growth of budget deficits and, most of all, the state defaults. This means a drop in commodity markets and a lot of other very dangerous from a social point of view problems," Doroshenko warned.

According to him, from a political point of view amid the acute phase of the crisis, it is important to maintain a certain control over the processes. At the same time, we have a situation where the parliament does not work, there are contradictions between the opposition and the government, and inside the opposition. It actually paralyzes any normal activities of the government and all government agencies.

"So it is very important that by autumn - because this wave will hit Ukraine particularly strongly in autumn - we developed a more or less rational, thought-out strategy of dialogue between the government and the opposition," the expert said.

He reiterated that a "political consensus, a common political front are needed to withstand the most extreme consequences of this crisis."
