Ukraine’s largest agro holding – Ukrlandfarming – has constructed an elevator in Sumy region with investment therein having totaled USD 130 Ml, the company’s press service reported. “Total investment in the project amounted to over USD 130 Ml, and new jobs with high average wages were created,” the press service quotes Ukrlandfarming chairman and owner Oleh Bakhmatyuk. According to him, Europe’s largest elevator launched in Sumy region will allow the region’s companies to reduce crop losses stemming from poor condition of the grain infrastructure. “The availability of such a powerful modern elevator facility allows the region’s companies to reduce crop losses,” Bakhmatyuk said. He is also confident that putting the new elevator into operation will decrease administration and inventory control costs  owing to the possibility of centralized grain storage, including that for the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine‘s needs. Ukrlandfarming’s head said the grain facility’s total annual capacity grew by 180 KMT in 2013. “Total annual grain storage capacity of the facility is 500 KMT, of which 180 KMT was added in 2013. Its receiving and handling capacity exceeds 1 MMT of grain a year,” Bakhmatyuk stated.
