Ukraine hopers to attract up to $3 billion as investment in the agricultural sector this year, which will exceed last year's figure by more than three times, First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has said.

"This year we are planning to attract up to $3 billion as investment in the agricultural sector. This exceeds last year's figure by more than three times, when over $800 million was invested in agriculture," Arbuzov's press service quoted him as saying.

He said that such an increase in investment would be possible through the reduction of risks for potential investors.

Arbuzov also noted that if $3 billion is invested, then half of foreign investment would account for the agricultural sector.
